How to Own Prom Night and Make It Yours

Prom for many students is a night they look forward to. It is the day when dreams come true. Dancing the night away in the hands of your date for the night while everyone admires your beauty and your dancing skills, isn’t that the dream? Yes, it is and to many it stays just that, a dream. However it doesn’t have to be so. While expecting everyone to be awe struck by you on the dance floor may be a bit of a reach, it is still possible to own the night and make it your day. To do that, all you need is a few tips.

It Is Not Just About the Dress

Yes, believe it or not, the dress while it does matter is not everything. A pretty dress makes you feel beautiful but it is simply not the only thing that matters.  There is so much you need to focus on when preparing for prom. From the accessories to hairstyles to the Chauffeured cars, there is so much you need to sort out so just solely focusing on the dress is not wise.

The Early Bird Gets the Cake and Everything Else

Make a list of what you need to do and try to sort them out before D-day. Certain things like the cars may need to be reserved weeks ahead of prom. Even appointments at the salon will need to be made early. This is because prom is not just for you. There are so many students heading to prom and chances are if you take your time reserving services then someone else will book them before you can. Therefore if you do not fancy having your sister do your hair for the day or have your mom drop you and your date off, you might want to make early reservations.

Be Confident Or At Least Fake It Until You Make It

Confidence is going to be your biggest ally.  No chauffeured car, gorgeous gowns or blown out curls will be able to make you dazzle as much as your own confidence will. When you walk and speak confidently, you become much more attractive and you will radiate charisma. Your aura will make people turn around and look at you. They will listen to what you say and you truly will feel like you own the night. So try to be confident. If you don’t naturally feel very confident then fake it until you make it. If you get anxious in social circles just for the night, believe in yourself, hold your head up high and walk and speak with confidence. Even if you have to fake it in the beginning, with time it will become natural and you will feel great.

In the end, whether you own the night or not, just remember to have fun. Try to take pictures and hang out with your friends. Dance the night away if you want to or just chill in a corner with your date. Just enjoy the night and make memories you would look back at with a smile.
