Summary:
Approximately 500 Embraer Bandeirantes were built. In the passenger configuration, the Bandit can carry 15 passengers. It is also readily configurable to a freight carrier with a payload of 1200-1600KG. It was built as a general purpose twin-turbine-engined aircraft to be operated with two crew for regional routes and commuting. The Bandit has a very large cargo hold allowing excellent flexibility to mix passengers with freight or passengers carrying large amounts of equipment and baggage.
Air South regularly uses the Bandit to provide professional and economical solutions to a number of clients including, but not limited to:
- Mine personnel transfers (FIFO)
- Contractor personel transfers (FIFO)
- Private charters (10-15 passengers)
- Commuting to or from Adelaide or Melbourne to regional hubs in South Australia and Victoria
- Transfer Government or corporate personnel for day meetings to Kangaroo Island, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Port Augusta, etc.
