Q: How much does it cost to charter a private aircraft?

A: Generally, when chartering with Air South you will be charged for the engine time of the aircraft plus:

  • Flight crew daily rate
  • Flight crew meals and accommodation (if required)
  • Landing Fees

Different aircraft types are charged at different rates, travel at differing speeds and seat varying passenger numbers. Given the number of variables that need to be taken into consideration, we encourage you to contact us to discuss your charter requirements and obtain an indicative costing.

 

Q: Where do you leave from?

A: Air South is based in Adelaide, however, our aircraft are available for charter throughout Australia - to or from anywhere (subject to landing strip suitability).

 

Q: How many people can fit in an aircraft?

A: Air South have a range of aircraft seating from 5 - 19 passengers. A combination of multiple aircraft can be used on one single charter to cater for larger groups.

 

Q: How far in advance do I need to book?

A: Air South runs around the clock. Urgent after hours requests may be directed to 0400 950 622. Bookings at least 24 hours in advance will result in the most efficient solution, however Air South is capable of dispatching aircraft within 90 minutes, or as little as 30 minutes if a standby arrangement has been made.

 

Q: Can I use my mobile phone in the aircraft?

A: No. You may however switch it to flight-mode (if your have this feature) and use applications on your phone as required.

 

Q: Can I use my lap-top in the aircraft?

A: Yes.

 

Q: Is there a bathroom on board?

A: No.

 

Q: How much luggage can we take?

A: This depends upon the number of passengers on board, but generally there is an allowance of approximately 15kg per passenger.

 

Q: Can Air South organise airport transfers?

A: Absolutely. When requesting a charter quote or charter solution - be sure to indicate that you would like airport transfers to be included.

 

Q: Are there any age restrictions for passengers?

A: No.

 

Q: Are meals & refreshments provided on board?

A: On short flights (under 2 hours) by default no meals or refreshments are provided. If requested in advance, Air South can arrange light snacks, full packed lunches and so on.

 

Q: Do we need to organise permission to land?

A: No. This is Air South's responsibility.

 

Q: Does it cost extra to have a pilot wait overnight?

A: Yes, please contact us for further information.

 

Q: Do you have car parking?

A: Parking is provided at the General Aviation Terminal by Adelaide Airport Ltd. A small fee applies.

 

Q: Could our flight be delayed due to weather?

A: All Air South aircraft and pilots are equipped to fly in all weather. In very rare instances the pilot may delay the departure or arrival at an aerodrome due to weather subject to their discretion.

 

Q: Do you cater for disabled passengers?

A: Yes. We do require advanced notice though.
